SilverFast can not find my Nikon Scanner on my Windows machine.

As the old Nikon driver is no longer updated, SilverFast comes with its own driver for Windows. If you have installed an older version of Nikon Scan or another driver before installing SilverFast, SilverFast cannot drive the scanner.

In this case, you need to uninstall the driver and then install SilverFast and the correct driver again:

1. Click on the Windows button and open the control panel.

2. Search for the device driver with the corresponding field or find it under “system”.

3. In the device manager, open the image acquisition devices. The scanner must be switched on.

4. Right-click on your Nikon scanner to uninstall the device.

5. Check to remove the driver and then confirm the uninstallation.

6. Turn off the scanner.

7. Restart the computer.

8. Reinstall SilverFast.

9. Turn on the scanner. The current driver will be installed automatically.

10. Open SilverFast. The scanner should be recognized as the source of the image now.
