You are trying to run SilverFast 9 and get suddenly an “error 107”, when it still ran perfectly fine the other day?
Well, it seems that your installation of SilverFast had been manipulated somehow.
On macOS this often happens after having used a “cleaner” software.
You see, SilverFast 9 has components for use with Intel and ARM (Apple Silicone) CPUs, which it needs to work with different driver architecture – still not all are available in a native ARM variant.
However, turns out that certain tools remove seemingly “unnecessary” components from installed software by their default configuration when they “clean”.
Consequently to SilverFast, when it is started and checks its internal validaty, finds itself modified, and throws the error 107.
Solution:
Easiest – do not use such tools. Apple’s macOS does not need any “cleaning”, and those apps cannot know what other software is effectively needing. You’ll save yourself some hassle.
At the very least – look for an option where such parts are deleted from installed software and disable those.
How to repair SilverFast?
